Born on the wrong side of the blanket: o que significa?

Hello everyone! Today’s idiom is “born on the wrong side of the blanket”. Have you ever heard about it? A child born on the wrong side of the blanket is illegitimate – his or her parents were not married at the time of the birth. Here in Brazil we say “filho ilegítimo” or “filho bastardo”.

Example:
Just between you and me, I suspect Mrs. Potter’s oldest child was born on the wrong side of the blanket.
Cá entre nós, eu suspeito que o filho mais velho da Sra. Potter é filho bastardo.
That’s it. See you next time!
